Hello there! My name is Sheehan Quirke (otherwise known as The Cultural Tutor) and this is my website.
I know it looks basic, but don’t worry — nothing has gone wrong; I just like to keep things simple.
I’ve written a book and you can get it here. It’s called The Cultural Tutor: 49 Lessons You Wish You’d Learned at School, and it’s a kind of whirlwhind introduction to art, architecture, history, love, poetry, and literature… in a word: culture. These things are written about both for the good they represent in themselves, and also because of what they offer in our present day — culture as an alternative to the 24 hour content cycle; culture as an antidote to doomscrolling.
There’s also the Areopagus, my occasional newsletter. Subcribe here, if you like.
Otherwise you can watch my short film (and subscribe to the accompanying channel); there’s only one video, but (all being well) there’s more to come.
You can also follow me on X or Instagram.
Email me at sheehan@culturaltutor.com for whatsoever reason you choose.
What brought you here? What did you dream of last night? Time rushes on; the World is turning. Farewell!
